Whisky Week returns to Aberdeen this August with exclusive tastings and events
Aberdeen’s Whisky Week is back for its second year, and frankly, this looks like it’s shaping up to be something worth getting excited about. Running from 21-31 August 2025, they’ve managed to pull together over ten venues across the Granite City for what promises to be a proper celebration of our national spirit.
The format’s pretty straightforward – grab a wristband for £6-£9 (which is refreshingly reasonable) and you’ll get access to curated tastings, exclusive pours, and special events across the participating venues. They’re throwing in a printed guidebook and venue map too, which is always handy when you’re plotting your whisky trail.
The venue list reads like a who’s who of Aberdeen’s drinking scene: St Machar Bar, Monty’s, Whisky Situation, Fierce Beer, The Firepit, The Albyn, No.10 Bar & Restaurant, Under the Hammer, The Grill, and Aberdeen Whisky Shop. Each spot will be offering their own unique selection of drams and hosting exclusive events throughout the ten days.
What I particularly appreciate is that the organisers seem to be pitching this at both seasoned whisky folk and newcomers alike. The north-east has always had deep ties to the whisky trade – it’s about time someone properly celebrated that heritage while looking forward to what’s coming next.
The full programme details are still under wraps, but they’re promising more announcements about guest speakers, distillery showcases, and tasting sessions in the coming weeks. Given the venues involved and the scope they’re talking about, this could be a genuinely interesting addition to Scotland’s whisky calendar.
Wristbands are available now at whiskyweek.co.uk/aberdeen/ if you fancy getting involved.
